The last post of the 26 of May ended with an intriguing question about the evolution of the Polish tourist market: after a brilliant 2014 and a positive first quarter of the current year, the negative data of April does it mean a change in the positive trend of the demand for Polish travel agencies?
The report of May 2015 of PZOT-MERLIN X shows a positive +1,8% compared to the same month of the last year, it means that the opening of the big season of holiday sales starts in a positive way.
The positive result of sales of May reinforces the global performance of the period November 2014 – May 2015: in April the growth was + 4,8% in May is + 5,4%. The positive trend of tourist demand for tourist packages isn’t equally distributed among the foreign destinations and the following graph shows in a very clear way who is benefiting or loosing in the Polish holiday market managed by the travel agencies.
Some of them benefit more than others. Compared to the last year Tunisia and Morocco suffered heavily (about less 30%). Big performance of Germany (+54%) and surprising the result of Albania (+29%) a new entry in the Polish tourist market. In June we will verify if this data will be confirmed.
