According to PZOT (Polish Tour Operator Association) and Merlin X (SABRE Vacations) from 2013 to 2014 the number of customers of Polish travel agencies is increased of 25,8% .

The graphic above display the monthly sales in the 2013 (red line) and in 2014 (blue histograms). From May to September 2014 the number of packages sold in the travel agencies was systematically higher than the ones sold in 2013. What’s the trend of sales in the first 4 months of 2015? According the same source (PZOT, MERLIN X – SABRE Vacations) the result is slightly positive +4,3%. The following picture describe the reason of this data.

After the first three months of positive, or very positive, sales, compared to the same data of the last year, in April the Polish holiday market has registred a significant reduction (-15,7%) in the trend of sales. Looking at the annual shape of sale curve the data of April isn’t dramatic: the market takes off in May and lands in October. These 5 months will decide the global result of the current year . Soon we will inform about the result of May. The last data provided by this professional source is related to the means of transport used for vacations. Flights cover the 84% of the market, followed by own journey, mainly car (10%) and busses (5,7%)

Jan – Apr 2015 compared with the same period of the previous year
In the last four months the bus has the best performance with +17,4%. This kind of mean of transport is strictly connected with group journeys towards European destinations. Not by chance Italy, France, Germany have very positive results as tourist destinations.
